A brief analysis of the import and export of aluminum related products in my country in July 2022

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, the changes in my country’s aluminum-related products such as aluminium profiles for windows and doors, aluminum extrusion profiles products, aluminium Solar Panel Frame and so on import and export in July were as follows: bauxite imports increased; alumina exports fell; scrap aluminum imports continued to grow; primary aluminum imports and exports increased month-on-month; aluminum alloy exports increased month-on-month; aluminum Exports of timber remained at a high level; exports of aluminum products continued to grow in seven aspects.

1. The import of bauxite increased month-on-month. In July, my country imported 10.59 million tons of bauxite, a month-on-month increase of 12.5% and a year-on-year increase of 14.4%. Among them, imports from Guinea were 5.94 million tons, an increase of 3.3% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 35.7%; imports from Australia were 3.15 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 29.1% and a year-on-year decrease of 3.2%; imports from Indonesia were 1.45 million tons, a month-on-month increase of 38.8%, a year-on-year decrease 10.8%.

From January to July, my country imported a total of 75.81 million tons of bauxite, a year-on-year increase of 17.7%.

2. Alumina exports dropped month-on-month, while imports recovered. Affected by the sharp drop in exports to Russia, my country’s alumina exports fell from a high level in July, with exports of 37,000 tons, down 80.6% month-on-month and 28.6% year-on-year; imports were 158,000 tons, up 14.1% month-on-month and down 70.0% year-on-year.

From January to July, my country exported a total of 603,000 tons of alumina, a year-on-year increase of 549.7%; a cumulative import of 1.013 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 47.7%.

3. Imports of scrap aluminum continued to grow. With the continuous standards of scrap aluminum raw materials, my country’s scrap aluminum import channels are more open. In July, my country’s imports of scrap aluminum continued to grow, with imports of 150,000 tons in the month, an increase of 20.3% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 166.1%.

From January to July, my country imported a total of 779,000 tons of scrap aluminum, a year-on-year increase of 68.2%.

4. the import and export of primary aluminum increased month-on-month. In July, the Shanghai-London ratio remained at a high level, the import of primary aluminum increased significantly month-on-month, and the export remained low. In that month, the export of primary aluminum was 8,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 14.6% and a year-on-year increase of 1,669.9%. Among them, 7,000 tons were exported under the trade mode of “logistics goods in special customs supervision areas”, an increase of 31.8% compared with the previous month’s 5,000 tons; imports were 51,000 tons. tons, an increase of 79.1% month-on-month and a year-on-year decrease of 72.0%.

5. The export of aluminum alloy increased month-on-month, while the import decreased. In July, my country’s aluminum alloy exports were 26,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 49.9% and a year-on-year increase of 179.0%; imports were 103,000 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 13.0% and a year-on-year increase of 17.0%.

From January to July, my country exported a total of 126,000 tons of aluminum alloys, a year-on-year increase of 35.7%; a total of 771,000 tons of imports, a year-on-year increase of 34.4%.

6. Aluminum exports remain high. In July, my country’s aluminum exports remained at a high level, mainly due to the continued recovery of production in the downstream products industry in overseas markets, which led to the growth of aluminum consumption. The European energy crisis affected the supply of raw materials for foreign aluminum production to a certain extent, and the growth of export profits also promoted aluminum. The export volume of timber continued to increase. In July, my country exported 616,000 tons of aluminum products, setting a new monthly export volume, an increase of 6.0% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 34.8%; of which, aluminum sheet and strip exports were 364,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 6.7%, an increase of 38.6% year-on-year; aluminum foil exports 14.3 10,000 tons, an increase of 0.6% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 47.7%.

From January to July, my country’s aluminum exports totaled 3.831 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 29.0%.

7. The export of aluminum products continued to grow. Since the beginning of this year, the demand for foreign terminals and aluminum products has maintained growth, which has driven the continuous growth of my country’s aluminum product exports in a single month; however, due to the gradual recovery of production in the foreign terminal product industry, the demand for my country’s aluminum products has decreased, so the export volume in most months is not as good as the previous year. level at the same time. In July, my country exported 256,000 tons of aluminum products, an increase of 5.2% month-on-month and a year-on-year increase of 5.8%.
